12-6-14  SoundScape Performs with the IFACC for the Blackfoot Lions Club Show at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center

Soundscape had a wonderful time once again being part of the show packaged presented by the Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center on December 6.  The guys were in fine voice and really enjoyed peforming for the audience attending this Blackfoot Lion's Club benefit show.  As always, the ladies of the IFACC dazzled, and the quartet was again proud to be part of their show.

10-6-14  SoundScape Performs at the Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus Fall Show "A Cappella in the Fall"

Soundscape again joined in with the great ladies of the Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus for their premier community fall concert held on October 4 at the new ARTitorium on Broadway in Idaho Falls.  A very successful first concert with a nearly full house, the quartet brought additional variety and humor to an already great musical concert performed by the women of the IFACC .  Again, SoundScape is grateful to the IFACC for including the quartet on their show this year!

3-18-14  SoundScape Performs at the Idaho Gateway Chorus Annual Show in Pocatello

Soundscape was delighted once again to be invited to perform on the Idaho Gateway Chorus' annual show in March this year.  Besides performing their quartet performance package, Gary and Christopher had a lot of fun as members of the show cast, performing a funny and outlandish script entitled "Phantom of the Barbershop."  With Gary dressed up and playing the part of the Phantom, and Christopher as that mysterious voice heard but not seen, they teased the audience with corny one-liners and off-beat humor, for a number of hearty laughs.

2-15-14  SoundScape Delivers Singing Valentines

Soundscape was out and about on Valentines Day 2014, delivering musical Valentine's Day messages all around the Pocatello area to many loved and unsuspecting recipients.  They had a great and busy day watching faces light up and some faces tear up (romantically).  It was a special time for the recipients and for SoundScape.

12-8-13  SoundScape Performs at Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus Christmas Concert

Soundscape was delighted to be a part of the Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus' annual Christmas Concert held on December 6 in Idaho Falls.  This was the IFACC's first concert under the direction of their new chorus director, Gary Dunn, who is also the lead of SoundScape.  The concert was well attended and a great time was had by all.

11-10-13  SoundScape Holiday Performance Schedule Filling Up

Soundscape is anticipating a very busy Chrismas season performance schedule, with 5 booked performances and three pending bookings so far!  Available performance nights are filling up quickly, and the quartet is excited about their performance opportunities this season with plans to introduce a new song in their holiday repertoire, "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," arranged by the one and only Jim Clancy of The Vocal Majority.  This arrangement features the voices of both Christopher Midgyette (basso profundo), and Russ Wood (tenor) on the melody line.

9-30-13  SoundScape to Headline Carousel Chorus Vet's Day Show in Idaho Falls

Soundscape will be the featured quartet at the Rexburg Carousel Chorus' special Veteran's Day chapter show scheduled for November 11, 2013 in Idaho Falls at the Idaho Falls Civic Center.  The show is set to begin at 7:30pm, and will also include the Rexburg Carousel Chorus and the Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus (Sweet Adelines).

9-26-13  SoundScape Lead becomes New Sweet Adelines Chorus Director

Soundscape lead, Gary Dunn, has been chosen as the new Chorus Director for the Idaho Falls A Cappella Chorus, the Idaho Falls chapter of Sweet Adelines, Inc.  Following a 4-week application and audition process, the women's chorus made the announcement official at a "contract signing" ceremony held this evening at the beginning of their weekly chapter meeting.  Gary assumes the musical leadership of the IFACC as the chorus prepares for their upcoming Christmas show to be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, and plans to prepare for and direct the group at the Sweet Adelines Region 8 competition in May, 2014 in Colorado Springs, CO.   The upcoming spring competition will mark the debut of this chorus in Region 8 competition after their previous region (Region 24) was dissolved in a Society region reorganization completed this year.  Coincidently, Region 8 is comprised of roughly the same geographical region as the Soundscape's Rocky Mountain District.  As Gary stated,"I am really excited to have the privelege of introducing our great Idaho Falls ladies to our BHS District stomping grounds!"

8-18-13  SoundScape Entertains at the 2013 Bear Lake County Fair

Soundscape was featured (for the third year in the past 5) at the annual Bear Lake County Fair in Montpelier, Idaho, entertaining fair audiences during the afternoons of Friday and Saturday, August 16 and 17, 2013.  The quartet featured many of their perennial barbershop, gospel, and jazz a cappella favorites, and a few new songs for the quartet, such as "Sweet Georgia Brown."  Nice weather and the always-delicious fair food accompanied the boys' melodies as fairgoers would wander by, sit, and even sing along.  As with prior Fair engagements, the quartet was right at home being part of this great slice of American small-town life.

7-15-13  SoundScape Performs at the 2013 Idaho International Choral Festival

Soundscape "rocked the house" at the Saturday evening gala concert held on July 14 that closed the week-long festival of international choral groups at the L.E. and Thema E. Stephens Performaing Arts Center in Pocatello Idaho.  Joining with nine choirs from such places as Switzerland, Germany, Australia, China, and Costa Rica, the quartet was invited to represent the uniquely American art form of Barbershop singing at the tri-annual event hosted by the Idaho State University Music Department in Pocatello, Idaho.

The quartet performed two 45-minute shows on Thursday and Friday evenings at designated festival locations, and finished their performance run with a 10-minute finale at the Saturday evening gala, receiving three spontaneous standing ovations from the 1,200 seat full-house audience.  "It felt great!" exclaimed bass, Christopher Midgyette, "I was blushing with delight over the audience reception."  Following the concert, the boys had a great time mingling with members of the choirs from Costa Rica, China, and Germany, trading songs, snapping pictures, and telling stories.
