Soundscape
is a vocal quartet
from Pocatello, Idaho. We sing and perform a variety of a cappella song styles,
arranged primarily in 4-part
barbershop harmony. We are members of the Rocky Mountain District
of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Formed in 2002,
this group performs frequently throughout southeastern Idaho and the
intermountain northwest, headlining shows in Idaho and Wyoming, and
entertaining audiences across 6 states. In
2005 SoundScape
was awarded the prestigious Larry Ajer scholarship to attend the Barbershop
Harmony Society's Harmony University in Columbus, Ohio
where the quartet studied with the best-of-the-best in the Barbershop world, and
were the featured quartet in the closing concert. At the 2007 International
Barbershop convention in Denver,
SoundScape
was selected as one of three "Tag-in" Quartets for the event. This new concept allowed
attendees the opportunity to step in and sing with a high-quality
quartet.
SoundScape has
competed frequently over the past 12 years at Barbershop Harmony Society
District Competitions and has perennially placed among the top 10 quartet
finalists among entrants from the nine-state Rocky Mountain region.
Members of SoundScape are Russ Wood, Tenor; Gary Dunn, Lead;
Mike Louden, Baritione; and Christopher Midgyette, Bass.
